Lead By Example
We need to lead by example.
If we are concerned about threats and dictatorships in other parts of the world, the first thing we should do is set a good example.
Just as in healthcare, prevention is much less expensive compared to emergency care.
I'm excited dictatorships are falling. I hope it can happen through peaceful forms of pressure and technological freedoms.
The instability of transition needs support and motivation. …

Wisconsin Vs. The World
We live in a global world where it isn't that hard to pop up a factory in China or Mexico to find sweatshop labor costs and the ability to dump your toxic waste in the river.
China and Mexico are getting better as citizens demand less pollution and better wages.
Our state is getting worse as Scott Walker makes it easier for companies to pay low wages and get around rules designed to protect the environment and Wisconsin workers.
I think we should go…

What Is Going On With The Economy
Please remember that most state budgets are having trouble is because we just went through a huge national recession.
6 million people lost their jobs at the end of the Bush Adminsitration. Another 2 million lost their jobs at the beginning of the Obama Administration. We are now gaining jobs each month.
The reason we had the Great Recession is becasue the financial sector made huge bets on the housing market. They made bets they couldn't cover. Many of the largest banks…

Main Influence In Our Political System - People Or Money?
The campaign money (on both sides) is largely due to the Republican Supreme Court ruling that corporations, unions, etc... are equivilent to citizens.
The main problem with that is that these organizations never die, have massive resources and can easily dominate our political process.
This means that "we the people" no longer have the main influence over our political system.

Vote Democrat In Wisconsin Recall Elections
Turnout in the Wisconsin recall elections will be fairly high because Democrats are fired up and motivated.
Democrats don't like the idea of of a Governor who raids education funds and then forces teachers to pay for the raid.
Democrats also don't like politicians who try to mislead them. In the educatiuon debate, the Republicans always focused on "benefits" instead of talking about "total compensation" packages. Politicians have always given better benefits in…

Default Republicans Fault
If the Republicans push the United States into default, it will be their fault.
The entire Republican argument is based on a misleading talking point.
To say that tax cuts for the wealthy "raises all boats" is not accurate.
Most of us have not seen income gains since the 1970's (adjusted for inflation).
Trickle down economics doesn't work.

Why President Obama And Democrats Will Win In 2012
President Obama and Democrats will win in 2012.
The economy is improving.
The Great Recession saw 6 million jobs lost at the end of the Bush Administration.
We now have positive job growth.
The Great Recession is behind us.

An Open Letter To Teachers & Public Workers
Like many of you, I am not happy with budget cuts that were caused by a recession that was caused by the financial sector.
I'm also not happy that a majority of the budget cuts hurt kids.
We will turn our frustration into political action.
We will win elections.
...and we will do our jobs.
Continue to be awesome.

Peaceful Probabilities
We have no idea how things will be in the future.
We can guess at a few things,
but the course of history is influenced by our decisions.
Trillions of decisions
and then a whole lot more.
Billions of people
are choosing to live in a sustainable peaceful world.
The future has trillions of peaceful probabilities
and then a whole lot more.

Top Republican Myths About The Economy
Republicans do not have popular policies.
Because of this, Republicans have become experts at lying and misleading the citizens of this nation with well crafted talking points.
Here's some of the current Republican myths being promoted:
"Democratic spending" - Republicans keep saying that the deficit and growing national debt is caused by Democratic spending. The truth is that most of the recent debt was caused by the loss of…

Democratic Vs. Plutocratic Campaigns & Elections
The word plutocracy is used to describe a government that is ruled by money.
The good thing in the U.S. is that people are not able to buy a position of power.
The bad thing is that campaigns and elections are primarily influenced by money.
We are headed down a path of plutocracy.
The Supreme Court ruled that unlimited anonymous donations are legal.
That is a giant leap toward plutocracy.
I prefer…
