We live in a global world where it isn't that hard to pop up a factory in China or Mexico to find sweatshop labor costs and the ability to dump your toxic waste in the river.

China and Mexico are getting better as citizens demand less pollution and better wages.

Our state is getting worse as Scott Walker makes it easier for companies to pay low wages and get around rules designed to protect the environment and Wisconsin workers.

I think we should go forward instead of backward.

Do we really want to compete with China, Mexico and Mississippi for low wage, low regulation jobs?

I would be embarrased if we ever actually won that race to the bottom.

Instead, we can compete for companies who are looking for a clean, safe and healthy state where the people are educated.

This is why the slashing of education funding in order to give more perks to out of state shareholders makes little sense.

Scott Walker and the Republicans are leading us backwards.
