Watch the Federal Reserve Press Conference Live: FOMC Meeting Dates
This player shows the official Federal Reserve YouTube channel when it is live. Between press conferences and events, the player may say the video is unavailable.
What Is This Feed?
This is the official YouTube channel of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. Its best-known live event is the press conference held by the Fed Chair after meetings of the Federal Open Market Committee, or FOMC, the group that sets U.S. interest rate policy.
The Chair explains the decision, then takes questions from reporters. Plain as it may look, the session can move mortgage rates, savings yields and stock markets around the world within minutes.
When Can I Watch?
The FOMC meets eight times a year. The next meeting is December 8-9, 2026. The 2027 meetings are scheduled for January 26-27, March 16-17, April 27-28, June 8-9, July 27-28, September 14-15, October 26-27 and December 7-8.
The press conference normally follows on the second day of a meeting, in the afternoon Eastern time. Confirm the time on the Fed's calendar, since a schedule can change.
Why This Feed Matters?
Few unelected officials touch household budgets as directly as the people who set interest rates. Central banks need room to act without political pressure, and that independence is easier to defend when their reasoning is explained in public.
A live press conference is how that bargain works in practice: the Fed keeps its independence, and the public gets to hear the reasons and see the questions. Fair markets depend on everyone receiving the same information at the same time.
