What Is This Feed?
Japan's parliament, the National Diet, has a House of Representatives and a House of Councillors in Tokyo. The House of Representatives offers live and recorded video through its Internet TV service, in Japanese.
When Can I Watch?
The ordinary session usually begins in January and lasts 150 days. Extra sessions are often held later in the year. Tokyo is about 14 to 15 hours ahead of Chicago, so morning sittings there arrive in the prior evening here. Schedules change, so confirm on the official site.
Why This Feed Matters?
Japan's postwar constitution made the people sovereign and placed the Diet at the center of government. It is also the constitution that renounced war, which makes these debates important to anyone who cares about peace.
