United Nations Live Stream: Watch the Security Council and General Assembly
This player shows the official United Nations YouTube channel when it is live. Most UN meetings stream on UN Web TV, linked below. If nothing is live on YouTube, the player may say the video is unavailable.
What Is This Feed?
The United Nations streams its meetings on UN Web TV, which offers gavel-to-gavel coverage of bodies such as the General Assembly and the Security Council, along with on-demand video. The UN's YouTube channel also carries selected live events and features.
You can hear ambassadors make their governments' cases in their own words, then see how other nations respond in the same room. For anyone who cares about war and peace, this is one of the most direct windows available.
When Can I Watch?
UN meetings are held throughout the year, mostly on New York time, with others in Geneva and elsewhere. UN Web TV lists what is live and what is coming next.
The busiest period is the General Assembly's General Debate each September, when world leaders speak in turn. The Security Council can also meet on short notice when a crisis breaks out.
Why This Feed Matters?
Diplomacy done in public gives every nation a record to answer for. When a government defends an invasion or a veto on camera, its words stay available for its own citizens and for history.
The UN is imperfect, and a veto can stall it. Open coverage lets people judge that for themselves. A world ruled by law needs witnesses, and anyone with a screen can now be one.
Common Questions
How do I watch the UN Security Council live?

What is a plenary session?
A plenary is a meeting of all members of an assembly, rather than a smaller committee. The General Assembly holds plenary meetings throughout its session.
Does UN Web TV offer other languages?
