Watch the U.S. House of Representatives Live: Floor Stream and Schedule

This player shows the official US House Clerk stream. If the House is not in session, the player may say the video is unavailable. Use the official link below to check the floor status.

What Is This Feed?

This is the live video feed of the U.S. House of Representatives floor, published by the Office of the Clerk. It is the official record in picture form: members debating bills, offering amendments, and casting recorded votes in the chamber.

The cameras are controlled by the House, so you see the chamber as the institution presents it, without a news anchor talking over the speakers. The same coverage is available on House FloorCast, the Clerk's dashboard for floor activity, which adds a running summary of what the House is doing.

When Can I Watch?

The House usually meets during the week when Congress is in session, and it publishes its schedule in advance. Start times change from day to day, and votes can run late into the evening. Long recesses often fall in August and around major holidays.

A new Congress begins in early January of each odd-numbered year. That opening day, when members are sworn in and the Speaker is elected, is one of the most watched days of the House calendar.

Why This Feed Matters?

A representative's job is to speak for a district, and this feed lets the people of that district check the work firsthand. You don't have to rely on a campaign flyer or a short clip to learn what your member said. You can watch the full debate and the vote that followed.

Public access also protects the institution. The Constitution requires each chamber to keep a journal of its proceedings, and video extends that promise to anyone with a phone.

Common Questions

Is there a free House of Representatives live stream?
Yes. The House floor stream is free to watch, with no cable login or subscription.

How can I watch the House floor live today?
Press play above when the House is in session, or open House FloorCast to see current floor activity.

What is the difference between a House floor stream and a committee hearing?
The floor is where the full House debates and votes. Committees meet separately to hold hearings and shape bills, and they usually stream on their own pages.
